Why do the CEC Ministries web pages contain advertisements?

The CEC Ministries web pages are hosted on a free website, www.wetpaint.com, and are separate from the "main" CEC website, www.cectx.org. Wetpaint offers very functional and collaborative technology that would otherwise cost CEC hundreds of dollars to use each year. The benefit of using Wetpaint is that the technology and hosting is free. The downside is that the web pages incorporate advertisements. Can the CEC website feature polls or chats?

Yes, the CEC Ministries webpage enables authorized users to add polls and chats to the ministries' pages. For instructions, press "Help," at the upper, right of the CEC Ministries screen. (http://cectx.wetpaint.com/help#top). The website Help section is actually very good and offers useful information about the features and capabilities of the ministries' webpages.

Why name the website www.cectx.org?

Simplicity. CECTX is simple to type, simple to spell, and simple to remember. Also, we were able to secure or “register” both www.cectx.org and www.cectx.com for the Christ Church website. This works to minimize confusion and prevent another organization or company website from using one of the names. The domain, www.cectx.org, is the primary CEC website domain and the one that is linked to any CEC email accounts. All CEC email accounts have the extension xyz@cectx.org. By also registering www.cectx.com for the CEC website, we can use both domains. When you view the www.cectx.com website, you are actually being redirected to the www.cectx.org website.

When you input www.cectx.com, you are actually being redirected to the www.cectx.org website. We were able to secure or “register” both www.cectx.org and www.cectx.com for the Christ Church website. This works to minimize confusion and prevent another organization or company website from using one of the domains. The domain, www.cectx.org, is the primary CEC website domain.
We also registered www.christepiscopaltx.org. When you input this domain, you are redirected to www.cectx.org.

Why not name the website cec.org or christchurch.org?

They were not available.
